from a series I did of dead trees after the annual summer fires (often
begun unintentionally by shepherds burning a dry August field to
provide fresh pasture for the sheep in the spring) I called the series
'Still lifes' which works better as a play on words in Italian (natura
morta) or Spanish as they call still lifes: 'dead nature'...
