Santiago de Compostela is Spain's second largest church. From its central cupola
hangs this long, thick rope onto one end of which they, (on special occasions or in exchange of an offering of 240 Euros)
hang a large, silver censer (about 120 cm tall) & swing it not only back & forth along the fulcrum of the pulley but also extend the rope as the censer flies toward the congregation allowing it to run a good deal of the length of the church in a virtually horizontal trajectory before the rope is quickly taken in on its return path.
