Picasso- mural, Guernica.
Spanish painter Pablo Picasso painted the mural of the bombing of the Basque city of Guernica by German airforce during the Spanish Civil War. The air raid destroyed the city, killing an estimated 1,600 people and injuring many more. Picasso bequeathed it to the Spanish state but wouldn't allow it to enter onto Spanish soil until the dictator Franquisimo Franco was dead.
